You are correct - the SVX was originally equipped only with an A/T but just like there are USDM pre-WRX cars w/ WRX drivetrains there are SVXs with 5 and 6spds as well as other nice supporting mods. I would scoff at the car's OE weight more than something that can be removed/replaced. There are even swap kits available for it. The engine is pretty nice. The car looks like a DeLorean that was cooked a little longer.

That looks more like an engine than a car, but a sweet engine to be sure.
