Planning a Ghost Day (married with kids)

My friend and I call it Ghosting.

If you're married with kids, you'll know what I mean.

This is when you take a "mental health day" for yourself (either vacation day, sick day, etc) and go do whatever you want; and it doesn't adversely affect the rest of your family/wife at all. This is especially for people with possessive wives, or kid obligations. You leave the house "for work" and come home "from work"; but work considers you on vacation.

So my constraints are: 8:30 am to 6 pm weekday.

Ideas?

Obvious ideas:
- movie
- gokarting
- beach
- long drive
- ???

I need to do this soon before I go crazy.
