Question Places in Tokyo to buy racing gear?

Does anybody know where in Tokyo to buy helmets, or other car equipment?

Damn Vanessa, take me with you!
Unfortunately, there aren't too many racing gear stores in Tokyo itself. Most shops are in the suburbs and towns. Gimme a bit of time and I'll try to get you some contact info for shops in the Kantou area 'k?
BTW, if you're going to HK afterwards, they're an official Sparco retailer in Mong Kok near Hark Po Street, along with a few other interesting car goods shops.

Okay, so I checked around a bit... addresses are hard to translate into English, and don't do much good in Japan anyway (if you've been there, you'll know what I mean ) So I'm just putting up phone numbers and homepages (best to contact them for directions from wherever you're staying)
RAC (Racing Accessories and Co.) in Tokyo-do has racing suits, helmets, gloves, etc.: 033-643-0770

These other shops I'm not 100% sure if they carry helmets, etc., but they're in the vicinity and have lots of interesting goods:

In Tokyo-do:
Megastore Hasegawa, www.hasegawa-net.com/op 033-5574119
Nix (Nikkusu), www.nixnet.co.jp 042-966-9029
Alex (no, not Imprezer ) www.cd-gold.co.jp/alex/ 033-906-6111
Autoretto (Outlet) Going, 035-377-6639
Hirano Tire (they have more than just tires), www.hirano-tire.co.jp 033-853-4272
Up Garage, www.upgarage.com 042-788-5445
Border, 042-557-7304
Howars, www.howars.co.jp 042-468-9100
Ebisu 035-480-0180

In Chiba:
Top Secret (doubt they have what you want, but I mean c'mon, it's Top Secret!) 043-216-8808
Crystal, www.c-jpn.com 043-287-8888

In Yokohama:
Do-Luck (again, just somewhere you might wanna check out) www.do-luck.com 045-471-0500

heres an amazing concept, why not buy one here in the states? What the hell could be so damn JDM about a helmet? Right head side ear vent or something?

Would love to hear why you have to have a jdm helmet.

Not so much dollar-yen ratio...
What I meant was, Arai helmets have a lower retail price overall than America. Most domestic Japanese goods in Japan are pretty cheap compared to what we have to pay for them here. Even at a 100yen to 1 dollar ratio, it's still be a significant savings.
Now American products in Japan... ever pay $6 for a Big Grab-sized bag of Doritos or $3 for a regular-sized Kit Kat?

Holy **** Choku, you really need to rename yourself OTAKU...

Anyway ... anything auto related is going to be somewhere hard to get to without a car. I used to pick up motorcycle stuff along Route 247 near Grandberry Mall (Minami-Machida ... still part of Tokyo, but definitely not central). There are a bunch of bike shops near that intersection, including a Ducati dealer...

All depends on what kind of helmet you're after ... kart, you go to a kart shop, bike, you go to a bike shop ... I have no idea where to get reasonably priced rally or SA type helmets. I think a lot of people mail order them ... TAKKYUBIN POWAH!

And yes, they are cheaper in Japan. Also consider that sales tax is (still) flat 5%, and now the price tag has to have tax included, so that's another decent discount.

Hoo hoo, yeah Minami Machida is pretty far off from "central" Tokyo. I tried to limit most of the shops in the Tokyo-do area, but it's still pretty big lol.
Man, you know what I miss? Bosozoku. They were friggin' awesome... wonder why that trend never caught on here... unless... I start it up myself!!!!!!!!!
