Place to take a pic
Does anyone know of a good place to take a solo pic of your car with a somewhat nice background in the bay (preferably in or close to the fremont area) I was thinking of a place thats a big clean empty parking lot. trying not to have a big building in the pic, maybe have just nothing around kind of... also no cars around getting in the pic. I was thinking at the top of the garage of the mall but don't know how many cars are there during the day. I was looking around the area near devry so i can possibly get the background of the area near dumbarton, but some of the parking lots there are small or theres a lot of cars in the lots. anyone find any nice empty spots? prob somewhere in a back area somewhere. i'm trying to take a pic around 5pm-ish close to sundown and get that effect

there is one at Dumbarton Pier
to get there, go down towards the dumbarton bridge on 84, exit paseo padre, go left... you'll go down about 1 mile, and then turn right... you'll see signd for a wild life refuge... continue down this ALL THE WAY.. to the pier.

ya the dumbarton pier is a cool place to take pix.
also a cool spot for "other activities"\
so be careful because you always have cops checking that place out.

It's nice out by the dumbarton bridge when the weather is just right. I also took pics of my car there when I first bought it.

hmmm...if you're ever in the area i think treasure island is nice. u can get the bay bridge and sf in the background. bay area represent!
also some tips:
-dont take pics in the middle of the day. i think the best lighting is before dusk.
-make sure the sun or any light source is behind you not in front. (but i'm sure most of you know that already)
-try not to get your shadow in the pics.
-take pics closer to the ground or higher up.
-fill most of your shot with the car. (i dont like it when people take pics of their car and it only fill a small part of the pic)
-and experiment with angles. dont take boring mug shots of your car.
Hope your pics turn out great! and post em' when ur done.

Since I live in Livermore, I've taken quite a few shots in the vineyards or overlooking the vineyards. I'm always afraid Im gonna get *****ed out from trespassing or somethin. Also up by lake del valle is one of my favorites. Not too close to fremont though.

pic around 5pm, small tripod so its low to the ground, nice angle shot, i'll see the position of the light and adjust, car is still nice and clean. might try the "golden spot" 2/3 kind of shot or a diagonal car shot. mug shots are boring yah.
