Place to smog in east bay

Place to smog in east bay

Hey guys,

I just got my wrx from my brother in arizona and need to smog to register. It has no cats,bov, and a turbo inlet hose. Does anyone no a place i can take it to pass smog in the east bay?

Reinstall stock downpipe and stock bov - that shouldn't be too hard. As for turbo inlet hose, hope it is black.

i would reinstall bov but the threads are messed up so if i take it off its gonna be a mess....are you saying that with only one cat it should pases smog?

stock downpipe includes 2 cats. you should be fine with no uppipe cat.

i passed smog with only 2 cats, you'll be fine. but you may not pass the visual inspection with the BOV.

Use the search button. There should be a lot of threads about this. You can probably get away with a catless upipe . Stock downpipe has two cats.

That's only if you count the down pipe and mid pipe as one unit. I'm only running the main cat ("3rd" cat or whatever you want to call it).

I bought a gutted OEM STI down pipe from ebay because it was cheap, works fine for stage II, and will pass visual every time. I'll let you know if just having the main cat will work when the time comes.
