Pioneer Navigation Install
Hey guys,
anyone here familiar with how to install a pioneer navigation?
i bought the pioneer F90BT
and the shop wants to charge me 200 to install it.
i bought the harness and it doesn't seem.. too bad... not sure
how to hook up the speed sensor and stuff though.
anyway, i would like to pay someone but i just think 200 is unreasonable.

I installed a Kenwood DNX8120, and could help you out with the install of the F90BT.
I was debating between these two Navigation units, and settled for the Garmin Navi in the Kenwood.
I live in Milpitas, so I'm close by.

im guessing you got the f900bt, awesome unit, as for the install the speedometer wire is a pain in the ***, 200 is a little high but that's what you can expect from a custom shop. Bring it to Circuit City, we charge about 150 to install them.

oh, sweet im assuming the two are pretty similar installations. did you connect the speed sensor and stuff too?
well i dont even care if the speedometer is not connected.
tonecold, did you do the entire installation yourself?
shooting you a pm

take the nav harness and connect it to the harness you got, match the colors, OR better yet, read what each wire does and match them up. ground the grounds to the car. hook up the antenna, pop in the nav. you don't need to hook up the speed wire. (well i didn't anyways....)

yea i spent last night figuring out what all the signals on the stock harness is and hooked up the headunit. i did not install the speed sensor or reverse sensor
yet but i think its unnecessary.
need to figure out how to bypass the video.
but yea.. im going to tackle installing my amp and speakers soon.. need to figure out how to pop off door panels and stuff though...
