People with STi replica Rear Strut bar please read

I was trying to install STi replica Rear Strut bar today and man... it was pain to install... had to take the seat belt out to squeeze it in.... also the holes in the bars wouldn't line up correctly..

being the dumb *** i am, maybe i installed it wrong?

you know on the ends of the sturt bar (the circle piece) one side is cut out. is that cut out side supose to face front of the car? or rear of the car?

have you tried each piece on both side? They should seat properly once you wiggle them around to have them go over the studs on the tophat. This is a REALLY straight forward and easy install so i am thinking something is wrong with the strut pieces you have.
