Pennywise fans?

Anyone read this business of Jim leaving the band and the band still carrying on with the Pennywise name?

Now they've got Zoli Teglas from Ignite singing for them. He's a great singer but it's not gonna sound anything like pennywise. It would be like Rage Against the Machine carrying on without Zack and having Sebastian Bach sing for them instead.

I'm super bummed. I mean good for Zoli but hell. I'm a big time Pennywise fan and it has a TON to do with Jim.

Majority of bands are made by the singer. You can always get someone to replace a band member cuz they just have to learn the songs. The singer brings a unique sound to the band that's much harder to reproduce.

Yeah I don't understand bands carrying on with the same name when the singer is gone except in rare cases like AC/DC or bands like Black Sabath where it's really the guitar tone that made the band.... though they were the best with Ozzy by miles.

Weaksauce! Jim is sooooo much of the Pennywise sound. Haven't seen them live since '95 or so, but man that's a bummer.

mine is bouncing souls. haa.

Yeah. I'm not sure how many of you are familiar with Ignite and Zoli. They're an orange county hard core band. Where straight edge but have progressed more and more polished and just hard rock. He has sung for the Misfits a couple times as well. So that gives you an idea of his voice. Real polished and clean. Powerful. I really like Ignite. A dude I go back a ways with played guitar with them... guess he still does. nik. He's playing with an offshoot band of ignite. They also had another band for a minute as well called California United. Great bands, all of them.

But not Pennywise. I'm curious if this is just to finish out gigs they already signed on to do and then it's over or if they're gonna try to make it stick. They're all from SoCal afterall. If they're gonna make it stick they're gonna have to change the name of the band as they will be WAY WAY different with Zoli. Zoli is like a powerful version of Bono.
