Peanut butter, the final frontier...
I have some friends from Croatia visiting here (family friends), 5 people in all... When people visit I like to expose them to the most "american" things that I can and take them to locations rich in American history, museums, historical places, and normal things like 50's diners and such...
If you didn't know, peanut butter isn't exactly the most popular food in the world outside of the US and Canada... The USA is one of the only countries in the world that produces/sells peanut butter... People outside of the US substitute it with Nutella or hazelnut/chocolate spreads. I remember when we first moved to the states, peanut butter was the weirdest concept to me and I HATED it... Anything with peanut butter was repulsing and that includes peanut butter cups and such.
I decided to bring some peanut butter over to my friends since they probably haven't ever even heard of it before... So I pull it out and explain what it is to which they responded with  faces. I get one friend to take down a spoon full since he had an open mind to it... within like 2 seconds he tries spitting it out in disgust... coughing, spitting, gagging the sticky substance out of his mouth... After the ordeal he exclaimed his disgust and said that we (Americans) were weirder then hell for liking the stuff... So one other friend gets curious because of the reaction prior and tries a little bit and his reaction was almost identical to the first!
All of them compared peanut butter to something made in a Chinese meth lab (AKA: Disgusting) and couldn't believe how popular it is here in the states... They gave me such disgusted faces when I stuffed down a peanut butter and jelly sandwich!
I figured I'd share the story of the funny foreigners and their story of repulsive American light brown spread that taste like peanuts... You have no idea how badly I was laughing watching them experiment with it... It was soooo alien to them... I'm laughing just thinking about it.

Haha good and entertaining story but wtf?? Peanut butter on sushi and pizza? I've gotta try me some of that. I've loved peanut butter ever since Meet Joe Black.
The thai linguini and kung pao pastas at cpk and cheesecake are pretty good btw.
