PC Video Capture Suggestions?

Can anyone suggest a good analog video capture device for the PC? I'm wanting to dabble into some video editing. I have my eye on a couple of starter software packages but need an idea on what device to convert analog (8mm) to digital. I'd appreciate any suggestions on either the hardware or software.

BTW... "Buying a Mac" is NOT an option...

Thanks.

Pinnacle LINX is what I use. Got it from circuit city for about $50. Cheap and comes with editing software. Might not be the greatest, but good enough for my use. I also have ATI all-in-wonder in my PC but no editing software with it. But since I have Pinnacle, I am good. (I use LINX for my laptop).

i would connect the 8mm analog deck to digital deck and dub into that.

1 generation loss is acceptable.

also, try to not use the originals as much as possible and wait until you can dub into digital...

ATI has a PCI capture card out that seems decent. It didnt have anything worthy of editing though. You would definately have to get some other software for that.
