PC gurus, I need your help!

Whenever I turn on my laptop, it says "Danger to manifold."

In all seriousness, my PC no longer recognizes me video card (XFX 6780). I cant figure out if it's my mobo or the video card itself, or even the power supply. Whenever it's plugged it, the video card fans runs at 100%. Unfortunately, I'm out of warranty on the video card. I was wondering if anyone can test the card for me.

If it helps, I have a i3 lenovo h420, w/ a 550w power supply.

Thanks in advance.

Located in Fremont, but I can drop it off.

Well... I sent an RMA request, but got extremely lazy and didn't send in my video card within the 30 days they had asked me to. Now, I doubt they'll take it, but I'll check up on that.

You can always ask for another RMA number. Does your computer post?

Yeah, I'm going to try to request another RMA. Sorry, unfamiliar with your last question. What do you mean by post?

When you turn it on, do you see anything on the screen? like the BIOS initialization or a company logo? or is the screen just blank?

Gotcha. Yeah, the computer is working fine. Currently using the onboard graphics. I Just can't get the computer to recognize the video card. The drivers have been installed, and it was previously working fine.

This issue began when I tried to add an older HD into my comp. I removed my video card b/c it was getting in the way, and when I put it back in, it completely just stopped working.

First thing I would test:

1)Reinstall the GPU (Make sure it's properly seated, power connectors too!)

2)Turn it on and test your monitor on both your onboard AND dedicated GPU, one at a time obviously, unless you have 2 monitors.

I know it seems stupid, but your computer might be using the integrated GPU even when your 6870 was plugged in.

If that is the case, just go into the bios settings and disable the iGPU, then reconnect the monitor to the 6870.
