pay a fine and not have to go to ref!!!

does anyone know if you can just pay a huge fine and not have to go to a state ref if you happened to get a ticket? i just dont wanna deal with the hassle of taking all the parts out and besides...im selling my car!!!

i didnt get a ticket for being catless...the cop just saw my engine bay and said it doesnt look stock. on my ticket it just says smog violation 27156(b)cvc...what does this mean?

that means fat ticket =\ i rembme when i got mines awhile back, catlesss, intake, and other stuf, took him two tickets to fill everything, in the mail i got fined a little under 2grand..

so basically if you've got an uber setup and it would cost you like 5 grand to pass smog, but you just bought the car and don't have to smog for another 4 years or something, you have to option of paying a ridonkulous fine?

Yah, but then you have problems when you try to register it the next year. Also, for new cars it is now 6 years.

so when you get the 2 thousand dollar fine, u can just go to state ref then they waive the fine? is that how it works?

since 2005. they added on another 2 years. so 02's dont have to smog until 08. unless they sell their car that is (i think)

basically, that code they gave you is simply saying you have "modified emission"

if you change your car back to stock in the engine bay they just inspect it and you pay like 15bucks.

"CVC 27156(b) No person shall operate or leave standing upon any highway any
