Pass smog with stage 2?

I'm currently stock running a Cobb Stage 1 map and i'm about to buy a catless downpipe. Will I pass smog with a stage 2 set up with CEL Fix? I heard about the FOULER trick that I might use, will that help? Appreciate it!

UPDATE: Just finished smog and passed with flying colors. Stage 2 time!

stage 2 map should knock out the second O2 sensor, so you dont get the CEL. But if they are scanning to make sure all the O2 sensors on, and/or do a visual inspection looking for all 3 of your cats, then you'll fail. Bugeyes have up-pipe cat, and two in the downpipe.

Theirs a 100% chance of fail with a catless exhaust. Unless you know a smog guy that will pass you some how, if that's the case you wouldn't be here asking use this question. You will fail the visual and the sniffer if you dont have cats.

Thank you guys! All I needed to hear. I'm actually due for a smog not a test only which I believe is only inspection?

Actually, test only is the one with the detailed inspection IIRC. You are likely due for a sniffer test which you should probably do BEFORE your catless DP goes in.

I guess I should be safe and just wait to pass smog before I put my downpipe in.

*sigh*

I can't believe, after all the SMOG talk, that people still try to pull one over and catless no less.

the only difference between a test only and a standard smog station/gold shield is that a test only cannot diag. or repair, the testing is exactly the same.

I guess I should be safe and just wait to pass smog before I put my downpipe in.

I'm looking for a '02-03 stock downpipe to pass smog myself... know anyone or want to get rid of yours after you pass?

A car running the stage 2 setup and catless will not pass smog, the downpipe will need to remain on for it to pass smog.

I always get the pre test, it's around $20 extra, but if you fail, it does not go to DMV. Gives you a chance to fix what is wrong and then take it back to test again. Still, like everyone is saying, you will need the stock downpipe to pass the sniffer part of the test.
