La Petite Baleen's programming is a verbatim ripoff of the YMCA's programming. Save yourself a few bucks and help support your community by going to your local YMCA.
All YMCA employees are also fully trained in first aid and cpr. Also, all YMCA employees are subject to a full FBI/DOJ background check prior to being employed by the Y. Our Emergency Action Procedures manual is huge and covers every possible scenario. Should something happen all of our employees are trained on how to respond in a coordinated matter. Petite Baleen doesn't talk about any of its safety procedures.

They opened up a Petit Baleen down the street from our Y, and they took a few of our members, but they've all come back. Reason for coming back is that while Petite Baleen will teach your kid to swim, they don't offer the programming to take the next step and become a skilled or competitive swimmer.

Also, the YMCA never turns anyone away for inability to pay. So if you're on a tight budget, you can usually get some form of financial assistance.

**** block much?
OP is just trying to drum up some business; it's a capitalistic society so caveat emptor goes without saying.

That being said, I was once a WSI at the University of San Francisco and I find that their children's program was the best EVAR!!!...

Our swim manual is actually patented and sold to other companies. On that note were just a swim school, we are not here to train Michael Phelps. All employees need CPR at our school and the deck staff is trained in first aid and lifeguarding also.

Let's break it down my friend. First off LPB provides all training using a curriculum that is proprietary and has been tested for 30+ years. Built from the ground up, It focuses on child development, not teaching three year olds how to do freestyle (ever seen that? it's not always pretty. 3yo's are not physically even developed enough to work strokes, yet everyone that switches from the Y, janet pomoroy, public pools all say oh yeah my child can do freestyle, but not even for 6ft and can't come up to breath).

All of our deck support staff are required to undergo red cross lifegaurd (includes CPR, first aid, and of course, lifeguarding). Also, at our Presidio location, we have on deck dedicated lifeguards. Why would you tout a HUGE EAP that would be hard and complicated to remember? That's just the EAP anyway, when it comes down to it, ain't no one gonna be following an EAP verbatim in an emergency. It all depends on your trained staff, of which i'm sure both are well trained at either business. Yes of course we have an EAP, we're a dedicated swim school. Safety is not an issue.

Regarding skilled and competitive swimming. Later on in our progressive levels, we began teaching LEGAL strokes (hence what's used in competitions). We still provide advanced swim programs at our HMB and SB locations. This is meant to prepare you for a swim team. It is not a swim team. We are not a swim team. The Y is not a swim team.

We do offer scholarships. However, it is in our mission statements that we mean to be a QUALITY swim school, not a DISCOUNT swim school. Per lesson pricing is competitive to other establishments anyway. It just seems more expensive considering its a monthly tuition rather than $300 lump sum.

Your statements are fallacy and come off as very malicious, there was no need for you to troll so hard. I don't look down upon the Y, and obviously that was not the purpose of the article. Heeds was just wondering if there were any parents of the THOUSANDS of families we serve on the Peninsula. It's cool stuff to find people you know. It's not cool to flame people you don't. But i guess i'm dabbling in those waters.

****, I could've saved us all a lot of heartache if I had read the OP more carefully. For whatever reason I thought that the OP was looking to take their kids to LPB.
