I think an Auto-X course is EXACTLY what Sac. needs, that and/or a real dedicated track. Theres plenty of room around the Sac raceway.

Double checked with my Father and he said it's legit... he also said they have a lot of hurdles to pass so nothing's set in stone YET.

He said the proposed location is on the far side of the lincoln/rocklin area though. Not where I had mentioned it was going to be in my first post.

He said if it's closer to the Roseville area then it'll be a problem but if it's further away as proposed then it shouldn't be too bad. I'm sure the citizens of that area (especially Lincoln) will be protesting every bit of the project.

We'll know for sure if/when they break ground. I'm sure you'll be old, fat and won't be able to ride in any coster because of your heart condition by the time this takes shape.

ok... first off let me give you a little background on where I got this info. My fiance works for the Placer County planning department. She is a clerk for the person who would be overseeing such a project if one were to exist. She asked this gentleman yesterday if he knew anything about ANY amusement park going into the Roseville / Rocklin / Lincoln / Placer county area.

he told her that it is a rumor that's been floating around for well over 5 years in the area, and it always seems to crop up this time of year. They have never even been approached about this, and that developers will in fact consult the planning department before seeking funding. Between housing developments currently in the works, and those in the planning stages, there is simply no room in that area for anything this large.

What's your point? The original Marine World Africa USA was built next to a lot of new developments in Vallejo. They aren't going to park a SixFlags Park in downtown Manhattan, right?!

Just take Russ's word for it because he's in the know.

Group buy on a plot of land!

I just looked in the Mt. Democrat classifieds, and most of the plots in that area looked to be between $100k and $200k for multiple acres.

Im from vallejo, I know all about Marine World. Roller coasters were NEVER originally planned, and like 2 or 3 houses at the top of the hill overlooking lake Chabot complained they might get some animal stink, and the housing areas in Vallejo were ~$100k houses or less at that time, not exactly prime realistate (although Vallejo since has become a bit more of an expensive place to live in, as all of the bay area people were forced to move farther and farther away to afford housing, Vallejo was one of the bay area border cities to notice this trend... The house my parents bought there for originally $35k, was sold in 99 for $165k)

Needless to say, this in no way shape or form relates to to a Theme park popping up next to $300-600k homes and a large senior community in a major Conservitive region of the state.
