P0171 CEL after gauge install waddfak?

Yesterday I just installed an egt, oil temp, and oil pressure gauge and also changed my oil from mobil-1 synthetic to a non synthetic brand since I am swapping the turbo tomorrow. I just got a P0171 CEL which is "system too lean." Why would I be getting this, any thoughts? Also when I am driving my car now I hear some weird screeching noise at lower speeds but is not present. I had my girlfriend is the passenger seat and she said that she could only hear the screeching coming from the driver side.

I'm not sure about the CEL, but it sounds like you have symptoms of a boost leak. I would suspect the egt probe is the culprit. If you removed any other intercooler connections be sure to check them too. Hope that helps bro, boost leaks are a pain! lol Happy T-Day!

ooo I was pulling on my boost gauge hose a bit to get the wires through the firewall, I'll have to check that out. Thanks for the advice!

Ok so I just cleared the CEL with my AP and checked for boost leaks. Theres definately no boost leak. I think I described the sound wrong. It sounds like a like squeeking noise whenever the car is in motion whether its in gear or not. It's most pronounced while turning though. Possible something is rubbing? I'm gunna have to jack it up tomorrow to change the turbo and injectors so I guess Ill see then.

Where is your egt probe located? Also, are you getting full boost? I wouldn't push it too much if it really is lean. Keep us posted if the code comes back.

I tapped the probe into cylinder 4 (drivers side ext. manifold). I am getting full boost and it acually is spiking ~16.5 with cobb stg 2. I'm going now to see the family for thanksgiving but I'm not taking my car. I'll keep you guys posted though and if you have any other thoughts about this problem please let me know.
