Ok so I was looking to sell my dream car in the near future but ran into a really motivated enthusiast who offered to buy it. . .so I couldnt say no and sold it to him tues. Owned my E30 M3 for 5 years and I put it on coils, wheels, and exhaust before completely rebuilding the engine. Long story short, I loved this car.

From this

BUT I sold it to pay off all my debt and purchase a similar car
Both have; wide fenders, shopping cart wing, BBS wheels, Recaro interior, 4cyl race built engines, and white paint :P
Bought this today.

2006 STI w/ 50k. Comes with SPT turbo back exhaust. . .but they have to put the cats on to smog it and sell it. So not picking it up till Wed. Love the freaking car! Big difference from our WRX.

Congrats man! You got the best body style and color combo!
If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for the car? The reason I ask is because I'm looking to sell my 07 with around 40k that has never really been modded (just a tune basically).
Depending on how much I can get will greatly factor into what my next move is. If you don't feel comfortable posting about how much you paid, please shoot me a PM, it would help me greatly.
Couple questions:
What's the car's story? Obviously was modded before because you mentioned it had no cats. The dealer is going to sell it to you this way? You said that it was getting fixed I just wanted to make sure you didn't have to pay to restore it back to stock, that would be screwed up and I can totally see a dealer doing that.
Does the car have any other mods? Upgrades, etc? What's the body and interior condition like? Normal wear and tear or does it look like it's been abused?
Sounds to me that you made the right decision but I wouldn't have gotten rid of that E30 (especially if it was factory mostly minus the mods you mentioned). The E30's are going to be worth $$$$$$$$$$ in 20-30 years from now. It'd be one hell of a thing to keep stored away safely and perhaps even pass it down to your loved ones if something were to happen to you (god forbid).
Another question is: How much did you sell your E30 for? It was REALLY beautiful and I can't help it but to be sad about the fact that someone as enthusiastic and caring as you would get rid of the car, but I understand... No matter what you drive, you will get used to it and newer cars with their creature comforts and reliability start tempting you. I had a 2000 2.5RS that I drove to hell and back with that was highly modded (at one point at least) that I know I'm going to regret selling, but oh well, I had no use for that car anymore as my WRX and then STi replaced it and I haven't looked back. The NA stock motor was just so weak and I had the choice of swapping in an STi drive train (complete) or selling it and getting another car. (I went with an 06 WRX, but that ownership was short lived as it was totaled after hitting a tree and deer (3 deer in road, I had zero time to react). Insurance gave me a check and I got my STi. First 10k miles I had a PERMANENT (or what seemed like it) smile on my face. So much better than my WRX. You are going to have a blast. It's almost as if the WRX and STi are completely different cars. They don't feel the same at all. Plus, the GD is the last Impreza to feel like you're in a rocketship. The newer models just seem so soft and edgeless... You made a great choice and congrats to you and your wife. I hope to see you at the Auto-X today.
Sorry for the long response.

Thanks again for the comments, the main reason for selling the E30 M3 is cause it doesnt fit a baby seat and to pay off most our debt. We have plenty of plans for the STi and will keep posted for sure.
I sold the M3 for a very low price just because of the need to sell. . .12k. Rebuilt engine which ran around 5g's, wheels sell for 3g's, all on top of a rare car. The car has 200k and I could have got 15 if I held out but no more bills besides a cheaper car payment was too enticing.
The STi had Cobb tuning, I can only guess since it had a Cobb sticker on the side skirt. Then the full exhaust and I looked at the suspension and saw pink springs. . .likely JDM pinks. The exterior is very clean, just some minor stuff. The interior is very clean, doesnt have front floor mats so I have to pick those up. They had it advertised for 23000 but we talked them down to 21500 and they're putting new Continental tires on it, refinishing the right wheels since theyre curbed, and installing a whole new stock exhaust (required to sell). So I think we got a good deal out of a dealer. . .
We love the M Coupes, actually last year we sold my wifes Z Coupe to buy a vaguely similar car. . .
(and yes thats her racing)

Actually, the guy I sold my M3 to wanted to trade for his E39 M5 but I didnt want to pay that much for gas haha. So instead he's selling it. 2000 M5 with updated Nav and lights (2001-2003 had newer lights and bigger nav screen), LeManns blue, lowered, sexy HRE's. 80k and the car was freaking C-L-E-A-N! Not sure what hes asking but I could ask for you'
