Ouch!

So after my little altercation in the mountains I figured I should add an alignment to the 90,000 mile service that I'm a little overdue for.

They found that not only do I need all my brake pads and rotors replaced, but they also want to replace the lower control arms and bushings.

It's going to be over $2500 just to get back on the road....

-without getting the bodywork done, that's another $1700!!!

And my property tax bill showed up today, another $4G- 2 of which are due on 11/1.

Man, the folks at Mastercard are gonna love collecting the interest off me for the next year or so!

Oh man... Don't you have some insurance to help out with the bodywork?

And sounds to me like it's time to upgrade to a Gran Turismo Brembo brake set! Or does that knock you out of some sort of rally/auto-x category?

Sorry to hear that Pete. Nothing is worse than having pills you didn't think you'ld need. Ya if you can get the up grade. I know how hard you drive. But by the sounds of it that money isn't going to be there.

And remember Huck, he doesn't want that extra point by calling his insurance.

Well I do, but they already doubled my rates last year when some jerk-a** ran into me as I was backing out of my driveway- first they said they were dropping me, but they wound up just severely jacking my premiums instead.
I don't know, maybe I should give them a call, I gotta at least call the guy that "shared" that blind hairpin with me last weekend, maybe his insurance can help.

no, although I do have to keep things clear for my stock wheels, but the bad a** brembos would probably knock me out of the "has enough money to buy his cat some food this week" category.

heck- Milo could stand to lose a couple of pounds.....

making it all worse is knowing that I'm about due for a clutch,

and timing belt/water pump-etc.

ah well, it's only money...

(and it's still cheaper than my BMW was when it turned 94,000)

Probably not worth getting on the bad side of your cat though. They can be quite vindictive if offended.

That's quite an impressive a confluence of outflows in the cash department. Definately painful when it all comes together.

Are the control arms just a wear issue of something to do with the prang?

I'm thinking more to do with the shunt, but at 95,000 miles I think that wear has a lot to do with the call as well.

Hey Mike,
Thanks for the offer, afraid I'm already committed this round, but I'm thinking of you guys for some of the other expensive stuff I'll be needing soon.

If you guys weren't so far away from where I live I'd probably be in there for a lot of things already.

Any chance that you might have a loaner car for us out of towners that might need to drop our sleds off for a couple of days?

Actually Gino purchased a shop car the other day so that is something that I would imagine could be arranged.
