i've been trying to find pics of that car with the badge on the fender. not the 360, it looks like a 550. but all the 550 pics i find online never have a badge. was that one a special edition?

It was a 550 Maranello. The 575 didn't come out untill about a year later. You can tell because the 550 hoodscoop is smaller and the 550 has fog light incorperated into the front grill, where as the fog lights in a 575 are in seperate holes. That article was wrong... or possibly the wrong information was given to the writer of that article by Ferrari to ensure the model advertised reflected the model actually available at the time of release... the 575.

Just looked more closely. It appears that BOTH a 550 and a 575 were used. I guess they didn't figure a car nerd like me would notice the subtle differences.
