OT: Painting Diecast models

Just got an impreza diecast model, and i want to repaint the shell with another color(WRB)

Any suggestions you would have to what kind of paint, where i can get them, any techniques for better results, etc...

hey since we are talking bout diecast models, do you guys know where I can purchase autoart 1/18 scale subaru wrc impreza's...i'm looking for solberg wrc 2001 and the german team wrc 2001. as well as the autoart display case...i looked at minimports.com and they sell the german team wrc but not the other two...autoart doesnt seem to sell all of their products on their website either...ne info would be appreciated...thanks guys.

touchuppaint won't look right. model paint is ground to a much finer metal flake size on the metallics and such.

i can get you real WRB diecast paint from japan if you want.

your best bet is to find a hobby store that carries autoart models and have them order it for you... in the eastridge mall i know there is a real cool model store upstairs that carries top notch import models....

that reminds me i have to go down there soon the get some X-MAS presents.....

good call....


also, as far as technique goes.....I would only airbrush the model....You will get the best results that way.

Also.....MASKING TAPE IS YOUR FRIEND!!!!!! USE IT WHERE NEEDED (windows, lights, wheels, etc.)

hey don...you can just go to kragen and grab one of those spray touch up cans. it should work nicely.
