OT: Awesome bike dealerships in the Bay?

Hey clubbers! Perhaps this is in the wrong forum or even in the wrong club, however, I feel I should ask and possibly get some valuable information than to not ask at all and still be stuck at square 1.
Anyways, so a friend of mine has decided to get a new sports bike. He's stuck between the Yamaha R6, Suzuki GSXR, Kawasaki Ninja, and the Honda CBR. He's test ridden all of them before and still can't decide fully. If you have any additional advice, comments, reccomendations to swing his decision; by all means let me know!
However, that's not the main concern. So my friend talked to a few dealerships in the Bay Area on the phone, but they all shafted him. They say a really amazing great price on one of the bikes, however when he shows up with serious intentions of buying it at that price, the salesmen say they can't let it go for that little! They pretty much implied they'll give it to him for a really higher extorted price. For example, he called up a shop and they said $6,500 for a Suzuki GSXR 600. My friend is like "all right great! I'll stop by and check it out!" When we show up, they're like "oh we can't sell it at $6,500 specifically in that color, we gotta sell it at $8,000!" WTF! Um... no! We bust outta there really discouraged.
So, anyone know really good bike dealerships who ain't gonna rip an arm and a leg for a reasonable price on a bike? Also, got anyone to ask for or refer to so it's definately customer friendly and not a haggle war? Thanks guys!

You can try...
East Bay Motorsports
21756 Foothill Blvd.
Hayward, CA
510-889-7900
Most places will try to jack you no matter what and give you the bs that they can't go any lower. You just gotta know what to say back. Just tell them that you have money to buy right now and ask if they want a sale or not. Don't be passive about anything. Be in their face and talk to the manager directly. If you're firm about the price you want to pay, they'll usually compromise. Good luck.

Thanks a lot man! I'll definately pass it on to my friend.
Yeah, I believe I did hear something good before about this dealership, however, I can't exactly remember. I'll check it out with my friend nonetheless.
I know about the whole salesman reputation and haggling wars and all. However, when we went to that shop with the bad experience, we did tell them we were serious and that my friend was going to buy it on the spot. We said we would only buy it at the price you gave us over the phone, afterall, that's what you guys said. They went huddle up behind their office for like 15 minutes talking to their superiors I'm guessing while we waited, and they came out and still refused us. I was like "They're wasting out time!" So we really had it. I swear, if they're going to be like that, they can f themselves cause there's so many other bike dealerships out there. Whatevers, they lost real potential customers as now all my biker friends are not even going to bother with them ever.

Actually, they probably went back there and had a smoke break, coffee refiller, etc. It's all bull****. When they say let me go back and talk to blah, blah, blah, tell them no and tell that manager to come out. I did that when I went with my friend 2 buy her car and the sales guy got nervous and the manager actually did come out and we all talked. Forget those stupid salesman idiots. I hate those guys.
If the guys are jerks and won't let you talk 2 the manager, find another salesman who will bring the manager out and then report the salesman.
If they dick you around, just leave. Sorry 2 rant, but I've been in that situation and it gets on my nerves. I've heard good stuff about that place. Good luck and let me know how it goes cuz I might be in there in a few months 2 pick one up, as well.

Also, I hope this isn't his 1st bike. If it is,oh man. Squids everywhere.
They just ruin it for everyone out there who rides cuz they raise insurance rates. I see 2 many people buying bikes because they look cool or want to look cool. Usually those are the guys who get owned or even die sometimes. If this is not the case, then forget I said anything.
Just be ready 2 choke someone.

Thanks too! Well noted, my friend will give em a call.
What I love about the Honda CBRs is the exhaust that spits out from the back. Sooo nice than the "typical side exhaust" not like that's a bad thing or anything.

Haha oiy... u're definately not going to like this. It is his 1st bike--yeah, I did tell him that he's too new to the bike riding and might drop the baby and motorbikes ain't cheap to buy nor fix! Also that dude!, bikes don't have frames! An idiot soccer mom on the road with a SUV might just knick ya and there you fly 100 feet away! *Knock on wood*
Anyways, he's insisting that he can handle it and can pay for a brand new bike in the 600 class. He's pretty hard wired about this. All I can say to him is that he better be effing safe cause I ain't visiting him at the hospital while he drinks his lunch out of a straw--if he's still alive. Again *knock on wood* =\
He loves speed, loves motorbikes since he was a kid, always wanted a fast sports bike, etc. The insurance rate is low though cause it would be registered under his dad. He wants the bike cause it's fun and speedy and great MPG especially at a time like this. Not exactly to pick up chicks or turn heads, although he doesn't mind LOL who wouldn't?

There goes the neighborhood.
You can be really safe and still get owned by other people who don't pay attention. But yeah, if he's determined to get one, I doubt you can change his mind. You might want to tell him 2 invest in some good gear 2. Especially a good helmet and a leather jacket. I'm assuming he has a license already too right? Because if he doesn't, they won't let him buy it. Anyways, good luck and hopefully your friend doesn't end up like those squids I see in wheelchairs because they thought they could hang.

You can ask the guys at www.barf.com
I think it's dumb to start riding on a brand new bike. I also think it's dumb to start out on a 600 crotch rocket. But lots of guys do. Some of them don't even crash, if you can believe that! lol Best of luck to him. The barfer's might be able to point you to a stand up dealership.

Anyways for sure if I ever wanted a bike which I do but then again kinda don't, I definately would start on the low end. Like a 250 or something used up and great as a beginner's bike and definately not like my friend's future 600 range bike. Also, the bike would be like just for commuting short distances, at least to start out with. Nothing so serious and fast.
(Although I must say my first car is the WRX which is fast and was troublesome for this newbie at age 17--please don't flame me!)
Besides, I'm not too big so it would be hard to control muscular, heavy, monster bikes. Also, I do not wish to die and I like armored frames.
<----------Very happy with a WRX. No bike needed haha
