Why 30+ if you have to also have full coverage insurance. Car wrecked by someone who is 65 will look just like car wrecked at 18.

It is 30 years old for several good reasons. It is called risk management and trying to minimize your potential losses.

The rental company is simply taking precautions that an older person will be more understanding and aware of financial, legal and health risks involved with being stupid with one of these cars as at that point they are more likely to be married, have kids, careers/jobs and have some financial equity build up (aka more things to loose). 18-year-olds, or even 20-somethings, simply do not fully comprehend the consequences of doing st00pid **** with one of these cars. Period.

Insurance is also much more expense for younger people, which means they are less likely to have sufficient coverage, if any, to cover a wrecked exotic. I wonder how many people on this board only have basic liability coverage with no major collision/comprehensive options...Paying to have a $30k in coverage (say an STi) for when an accident is not your fault is nothing compared to having $200k+ amount of safety net. Lastly, a human brain's risk center does not even fully develop until we are 25 year old.

Yeah that. I wouldn't trust most 20 somethings with 'my' Pinto, much less an Aston Martin.

On the other hand, perhaps any 30+ that actually has the time and money to spend on a 100 mile jont in a house-priced car would most likely be the type to not have a wife and kids and responsibilities. Where as a 30- is still young enough to remember their R8 and Enzo posters on their walls, just treat such a car with the utmost admiration and respect. Just the right to rev that screaming mid-engine V8 with your very own foot in your very own driveway would be enough to call it a day. That, and a few youtube videos to show the world how much of a baller you are.

For those of you who are wondering why there's a clear winner emerging in the poll, here's a little education...
