One step closer to a Skynet apocolypse! Video

Now this is damn right scary, and so cool that it gives me goosebumps.

This is a VERY early prototype of a real life automated sentry gun, only adapted to paintball guns for simulation purposes. This is very similar to the sentry guns used in the Aliens film.

The way it works is the gun is attached to a laptop and mounted with very sensitive cameras and motion censors so it is able to identify and track a target with insane accuracy. It not only tracks the target, but it actually identifies it using the latest and greatest of face recognition software.

The gun in this video is an early prototype and lacks some of the tech that the newer secret ones have. This stuff is pretty secret still for obvious reasons. I have two friends that are helping pioneer this technology, both are college drop outs.

Keep in mind that this gun doesn't have the recognition software enabled and is only using motion censors, so imagine the real deal that will think on its own and take out a single target with insane accuracy out of a huge group of people without any collateral damage. Now THAT is what I call f'ing scary and soooo sweet at the same time! Imagine 20 years down the road when recognition software is perfected? The future is f'ing CRAZY.

Here's the video:

Note the part where it shoots a ball that is still in mid air!

cool

obviously crawling on the ground can trick it, otherwise they wouldve included a crawl test in the video. Or crawling slow with a thin stick and reflective panel waving fast above you for a distraction.

im sure you can creep past it at .01mph thats how i trick motion detector lights in driveways for fun lol

Keep in mind that these guys are SUPER under funded, in their early 20s, and have to use existing tech... When tech advances so will the lethality of this beast.

ha yeah, i just want to see them test it with a crawl. But if the computer wont catch you crawling, they guy with the gun will. unless youre in one of those sniper grass suits.

We have all the pieces for these devices, just need to slap it all together, make it hacker proof, and not put faith in full AI.
