personally, i do not believe having a CCW permit will help the matter, it will only promote more of this type of behavior.

I don't believe it will help slow down crime, if anything it will cause higher crime rates

Alright, so what if the dude didn't have a gun? He loses his $3500 bike, gets the crap beaten out of him?

TO get your CCW permit, you need to go through an extensive course, etc, etc.

Would you rob someone if every packed heat? Hell no.

Quit being a gun fearing sheep. More guns=less crime.

luckily that was true this time, but what if those guys that try to beat him up for the bike were also packing? and when they heard/saw him fire a round off managed to return fire? are they suppose to have a shoot out until someone gives up. or gets hurt?

I'm not puttin the guy down, but I just saying it could have gone sour real fast. I live San Jose, I know alot of people that want CCW permits as private citizens, but the truth is, unless your judge, City Clerk,District Attorney or something in that nature your dreaming.

I'm Glad the guys is okay and didn't get his bike stolen. I just wish that **** like this didn't happend and he wouldn't have needed to carry just to go trail riding.

Well, if I had a gun on me and I jumped someone for their bike, I'd pull the gun out first and tell him to forfeat the bike... You know, no physical contact type thing... Or when the guy was resisting, the could have pulled out guns right then and he would have given his bike to them... You know how that stuff happens, all so fast. If I were one of the thugs and I was packing and some guy discharged a firearm in my direction I'd run like crazy... Only an idiot would stand there and grab his gun. This isn't hollywood.

But I agree, wish crap like this didn't happen!

CCW's do not prevent crime, they save lives, and they stop the crime from progressing.

No doubt, I try to carry my Smith&Wesson blade all the time. It comes in handy, not just for shanking people , but for random tasks.
