once again, i remember why I hate SF.

I lived in SF for about 8 years before I headed off to college. Since college, I would only go back to visit my mom and see how she is doing. anyway, so here is the story...

on Thanksgiving day, I picked up my mom to go to my relative's place for dinner. As I was going through the Stockton Street tunnel, this EXTREMELY slow Z was in front of me. But we were getting red so I didn't care. As we were passing by Market, again, he was going extremely slow (15MPH). After Market, everyone was going ~45 while this **** still going ~30. So I went into second and passed him as we cross Mission. Soonest I passed him, he zoom right back up and cut right in front of me and I just lay on my horn. And now my mom tells me don't play with him. I was thinking to myself. This sucks big time, even if I wanted to just fly and dust him I couldn't have possibly done it. My sad RS just won't cut it. He kept on going around 30 infront of me until we get on the freeway. Even on freeway he was going 40. So I kept on pinching his a$$ as he changes line. I had a feeling he would punch it if I would have made a move, so I followed his move instead. Finally got to one point there was a car directly infront of him. I changed lane and got the fuuck out of there.

I like the Z, I know it's a good car and has A LOT more power than mine. But why being an ***?! I didn't do anything to start **** with him since my mom was in the car. Anyway, to the Z driver.

Oh any another thing that pisses me off about people in SF. LEARN HOW TO USE YOUR SIGNAL LIGHTS YOU MORONS!!! Of course I know some do, but MOST DON'T!!
If you don't where the hell you are going, pull aside and call or read the freakin map!!

No kidding, I hate these morons up here... not that they're any better in S.C. though...

it's especially bad when the B&T crowd comes in on the weekend in their ginormous SUV's and drive all stupid... Then they get mad at you for honking at them when they almost smear you against a building/other car/light pole...

aaargh!

SF drivers aren't that bad. Once in awhile I'll run into someone driving slow or like a jerk. Most of the time I'm ok though. I never really drive near chinatown/downtown though, it's just not worth it, I'd rather take BART.

I make deliveries three days a week in a Toyota 1/2 ton pickup, and I totally feel for you on the horrible Bay Area drivers. I'm constantly getting in near accidents in that truck, and I drive SLOW to be a defensive driver and that still doesn't help. My biggest gripes are, like you said, signals, and also excessive speed and dangerous driving around pedestrians who have the right of way ALWAYS! In the past couple months I've been in near misses with cars trying to run me over while I'm walking in a crosswalk so that is not nice.
And sorry to go on but yesterday some a$$ in a Nissan Murano decides that while I'm making a wide u-turn in an itersection that he/she's going to go full throttle and CUT ME OFF while in my BLIND SPOT! What is up with that? The car was maybe a foot away from hitting the truck's front bumper at 30mph. Too bad she didn't hit me as I would have grabbed the cell phone out of her hand and smashed it. MUA HA HA!

Hey, leave SF out of this! That was just a bad/stupid driver. Most of the SF folks I know don't even own cars.

I hear you iBlue. On a side note, I hate the general road quality in the Bay Area especially in SF.

iBlue, I feel for you. some people just need to be pulled out of their cars and beaten within an inch of their life. sometimes i think that still wouldn't do the trick.

WRXCSTI, where are you from?

I came to the Bay Area from LA (West LA / Santa Monica area) in '99. Now live in Albany, just north of Berkeley.

We are off topic here. But IMO, the quality of roads and freeways in LA/S. CA is better than the Bay Area. I guess everyone is titled to their own opinion.

When you're in SF, you got to be a aggessive driver. If you dont speed up people will cut you! Even if you're driving a rs and a Z infront of you.

On the freeway, if you don't drive 5inch from the guy bumper on a slow traffic, you're going to get cut. If you let someone cut you, perpare to get cut by alot of people. WATCH OUT people with SUV and MINI VAN, those people don't care if there someone next to them!

The reason is people don't signal is because 95% people in SF, when signal, people wouldn't let them pass.

In chinatown that even more crazy, predestrian just suddenly pop out of no where, so you have to most likely to rev your car when you pass each block to get people attention. One more thing... if you see a bus right before the tunnel, pass it!

BTW Taxi driver are a-holes too

That's what happens when you try to cram a hundred thousand drivers into a 7-mile by 7-mile space. It only takes a couple of thousand ishy drivers to put the brakes on the rest. I don't hate the City - I hate driving in the City.

The only places in the City where I enjoy driving are far away from Chinatown, Pier 39 (or Pierre 39), the Wharf (or Worf), downtown/financial district/Union Square/Market St, lower Clement, and Mission St.
