Angry Omori Ext Gauge Reading incorrectly

Hey Guys - I have an Omori Egt Gauge for about 5 years and it's been working successfully for the most part until recently. During wet weathers the gauge wound bounce around and I assumed it was the probe getting wet. But now the gauge automatically reads the highest point as soon as you start the car.

I've tried disconnecting the opposite side end of the probe to my gauage (http://www.j-spectuning.com/images/EGT_probe.JPG) and it still reads high.
I've noticed when I starting using anything electrical(windows/headlights) the gauge will move slightly; however, I do also have an Omori Boost gauage and that reads just fine.

Currently the EGT gauge is spliced/power by the center clock, anybody have any ideas what would be the best way to diagnosis this problem (is it the probe? / wiring? / bad gauge?) I do have a meter is there anything I can plug in and check?

Thanks for any input!

My omori boost gauge is crap. I've owned 3 and they all mess up. I'm just going to upgrade instead of fix it

Same thing happened to my 60mm Prosports EGT guage. Turned out the probe itself broke, one night I did a pull and all of a sudden my car started like it was on open down pipe (im running a 38mm tial external waste gate btw). Pulled it apart and there it was, the stupid probe caused my downpipe to get stuck open!!!! If I was running a internal one my turbo is gone for sure. So check your EGT probe sensor just in case.

Heres a photo of the probe getting stuck in my EWG.

I've had a similar problem on my car with my Omori egt gauge. It will randomly read the max temp. Sounds dumb but I found that flicking the gauge with my finger makes it snap back to normal readings. Must be due to something with the gauge internal design not the probe.

UPDATE: EGT Probe is bad, well the wiring that is. If I twist the wires a certain way I will get a reading, if not it's foobar.

"A quick way to check the EGT probe is to disconnect it from whatever device you are using to read it & put an ohm meter across both output wires (the wire colors are usually red & yellow). If you get an open reading then the probe is probably bad. If you get somewhere between 3 to 12 ohms then it may still be okay."
