I saw some places in the midwest are under $2. If we get that far down again I'll be amazed. I just hope it hold in that $3 range for diesel and super. That seems appropriate to me. It'll bring the cost of all kinds of goods back down to earth.

Now... someone needs to buy Mother's Cookies. I can't find them anywhere.

I was so happy to see under 4 again that I called my mom in Hawaii when it happened a number of weeks ago. I think I will do the same when I pay under 3 a gallon.

$3.09 or $3.05 for 91 near work, should be sub-$3 when I need gas.

Any predictions on post Nov. 4th gas prices? I know a lot of people say politics play into the prices

If Obama wins... I can see them going down... I don't know why, just a hunch.

I think they'll go down for a while. Then go back up sometime in about a year. Then they'll stabalize. Probably about where they are now +/- 25 cents.

I sure hope so, that 5 a gallon was killing me, and I am sure everyone else. Especially those with long commutes.

Those gas prices helped usher in the financial withdrawl that the country is facing right now.

When you force people to spend more money just to get to and from work and around in their lives they have less money to spend on consumer goods and in some cases on other living expenses. Take someone that commutes from Tracy or Los Banos to work. The trade off for the commute is owning your own home. But then when your commute starts to go over the cost savings you find people in trouble with shrinking margins in their budgets.

Less money to spend on consumer goods means businesses making less money which means decreasing stock prices.

Less money to spend on consumer goods and an increase in the price of those good because of increases in transportation costs just makes it worse.

The fact that no one in politics was willing to step up and stop the problem when EVERYONE knew what was coming is sad. These are suppose to be the representatives of the public not for themselves and the 1% rich. I think they've forgotten that.

I guess those people who bought, I think, GM cars to get guaranteed 2.99 gas are kicking themselves now.
