OMG acid rain! Or WTF Subie paint?

Came back from a day trip to Tahoe during that crazy storm last night and decided to hose the dirt off my car. I thought I had some bird poop on the hood scoop and sprayed it with the garden hose. The bird poop got bigger and I was like, WTF?

This is the original scoop and factory paint on my '03 wagon. Where's a good place to get my scoop repainted for a fair price and not worry about getting screwed in this economy? What's a fair price for painting the scoop, anyway?

Damn that sucks. Is the hood scoop fiberglass or is it your oem one that came with the car because if it's a fiberglass replica and you got it repainted. The place that painted it may not have done a good enough prep work on the scoop and the paint ended up lifting from the scoop. It's just a thought because it does happen

I bought the car new from Albany Subaru, so it's OEM. The paint on the hood scoop has been fading more than the paint on the hood, but I thought that's normal for painted plastic versus metal. I didn't mind it since I planned on polishing and waxing it in the Spring.

A little fade or paint mismatch for a 5 year-old car is expected, but the paint just washing off is like .

The rust warranty is 5 years or 60k miles. Don't think this would apply!

Subaru's OEM paint is pretty crappy. I'm not surprised.
