For some athletes, like first timers and others that will probably only have this one chance to compete, the opening ceremony is one of the most memorable moments in their career/life.
It looks like they have msnbc, cnbc, nbc sports and bravo (in addition to nbc) broadcasting the games. I'll probably be watching tennis, soccer, martial arts and track and field.
I wonder if motorsports will ever be in the olympics.

So... far a lot of drama?
London Olympics: U.S. skeptical of Chinese swimmer's performances - latimes.com
Notes:
-Ye Shiwen, Chinese, won gold medal in swimming 400m Individual Medley. Her time was 4:28:43 World Record.
-Lochte's 400M time was 4:05:18.
Ye Shiwen's final lap was faster than Lochte's final lap. Doping much?
An Olympic Fencer Refuses To Leave The Floor After Getting Screwed
Notes: South Korean was tied with Germany in woman's fencing. South Korean was tagged for a loss, but the coach of South Korea asked why the time did not move. The strike that the German fencer landed is skeptical of the time being under 1 second.
I think that was human error. Anywho, that must suck to get jipped out a chance at the Gold Medal because some dude didn't start the timer
