The deer are obviously ruthless terrorist agents trained by PETA to destroy modified vehicles.

yeah really, i've been mashing through a 10 mile twisty commute about 3 days a week for the past 6 years and have only seen deers in the middle of the road about 50 times and 1/2dozen close calls. It really doesn't happen as often as trees jumping in front of you.

but i guess flat lander noobs don't know to cover the brake around blind corners

Hey man, I stand by my deer story!

And if you haven't seen it yet, here's my WRX after a tree head on at 35mph

I walked away with some whiplash... Going 35-40mph to ZERO in less then a thousandth of a second hurts... Not only your neck, but everything inside you... It's like getting hit by a bomb... And I've gotten hit by explosives before and I can say that they are pretty damn similar... That crazy shock wave that hits you from every angle. For me it was 3 deer, not one, and the road was just barely wider then my car!

Didn't help that I had 3 "assault weapons" in my trunk which I forgot about, so when the cops asked me if I had weapons on me, I said no... Then they find 3 crazy rifles and tons of hi cap mags on me... Hahha, fun times.

Here's the video of the aftermath:

The impact SHATTERED the transmission, look at the shifter and take note of the sound!

An i-club member actually bought the car when it was totalled.

Yeah, I commute on this twisty road every day, twice a day, and for the last 2 years or so... I always see a deer here and there, but the road is so narrow that they are usually off the side of the road (up the steep cliff next to the road). If you've been on Morrison Canyon Road, you'll know what I mean... Coming around a blind corner at 40mph into 3 deer standing in middle of the road that are trying to run away is a ***** on that road... I didn't have time to even think, it was just a reflex that I swerved left instead of plowing through them. Sometimes I'll sit here and think about it and start to doubt myself with what I could have done, but in reality there was nothing I could do... I was f'ed and there was no way to recover from that. I'm lucky I'm alive from that... usually I'm going a hell of a lot faster then 40mph, but I was lucky that I chose to just cruise that night... I was still speeding, but notthing crazy. My brakes didn't work at all because of deep gravel I hit when I swerved off the road. I just remember saying "Oh F*!!!" and BAM, I was out for a couple seconds, I saw stars and colors... airbag smacked me in the jaw and throat. It sucked.

At least I got an STi out of it.
