The drive we had planned for 5/1/04 does seem a little long.....maybe we could get more to plan on going if we shortened it? Just make it a simple loop, about 3-4 hr, with a BBQ stop for lunch somewhere?

How about just running 25 south to Los Gatos Rd, out to 198 (the road that links 5 to 101 thru Coalinga), then run 198 back up over the hills to 25 and take 25 north back to the south Bay. That way we could leave a little later and get back A LOT earlier.

Forget the run all the way down to Cambria and hwy 1.

If more seem interested, my buddy Finn and I will go find a cool place we can all stop for lunch and BBQ and take pictures.

Calling 25 a "highway" is misleading. Very remote and little traveled. Los Gatos Rd is one lane like Mines.

 

how about going through highway 9 or 236

 

On the way home?
Go over Hecker Pass Rd (152 west) to 1 up to Santa Cruz and get on 9?

 

those are boring. we can go on them anytime.

I like the origonal drive idea, but that might just be me and my wife.

 

..man the 152 has so many names but that is my touge..i love that thing high speed with some technique in there for you..Hwy 9 is cool too.
