OK Everyone, it's that time again! 3rd Annual Mt Hamilton Meet! (Different this time)
Ok, this time things are going to be a little different!
The date is July 13th, 2003. A Sunday.
Instead of making the trek all the way to the top, we're actually going to the park, which is about 12 miles up the road. I'm planning on renting the grant ranch house, (well, the outside portion). It's a nice landscape, with huge BBQ pits, a volley ball area... it's perfect for EVERYONE!
We're going to have a big BBQ (Steaks, hot dogs, chicken, hamburgers... whatever you guys want!). I wanna make this a pot luck style thing... you can give me $10, and I'll buy something for you to bring (If you are too lazy... hehe). Or, you can bring something that is enough to feed as many people as you are bringing. If you give me $10, then I'll go to costco, with like 5 or 6 other members, and buy a bunch of food for us to have that day. We'll have a little of Everything! This is going to be a whole day event, so... not just some small event. I'm expecting a huge amount of people!
I also want to see if some vendors want to help sponser this event. The rental fee is around $100-$150 for the grounds all day... so if a Vendor wants to help out, we can put their banners up during our party, and give them "vendor time"... (basically plug their products, have a table with their producs, booth, etc, etc). The more vendors, the better. So, Come on vendors!
The last 2 mt hamilton meets have been a great success, but have always been lacking something, and this is where we're going to change it!
Ok, lets break it down now.
The BBQ: Everyone has to bring something... be it store bought stuff (costco, etc) (Through me)... chicken, steaks, sausage, hotdogs/buns, hamburgers/buns, or home made stuff that you bring (Has to be enough to feed as many people as you are bringing, or more!) You should bring whatever you like to eat, to share with others, and the others will do the same! I know we are culturally diverse, and I'm looking forward to some of the things you guys plan on bringing!
(Or, you can always give me money, and I'll buy all the stuff the day before)
The Event: It's a gated area, with a BEAUTIFUL victorian house in the center... lots of grass, seating. This will be like a UCKK meet x 100. lol!
After the BBQ, when the sun starts going down (Right before dusk), I'd like to get a caravan to go to the top. Watching the sun set up there is AMAZING! It you haven't been up to Mt Hamilton during the summer nights, you are seriously missing out. It's one of my favorite area's in the world! So calm, quiet, warm, and simply beautiful! (It's the highest point in the bay area).
So, I have to figure out how we can get the money to rent this area... Vendors, I'm counting on you... but, if not, I'll be glad to accept donations, however small, or big. I know I can't afford this on my own, so any help is appreciated. (we'll probably have over 60 people there, so I'm sure the money won't be too hard to raise.)
So, this is it guys! This July 13th, 2003. Mark your calenders! Brings EVERYONE! Friends, family, brothers, sisters, kids, wives, husbands, etc, etc! This will be a meet you guys will never forget! (Plenty of food and drinks + Subie people in a beautiful place = the shizzle!!!)
Here are some pictures of last years event!
So, please, respond with comments, and RSVP!
I expect you ALL to be there! This is a once a year meet, that is a BAIC exclusive!!! NO EXCUSES!!
PS: I didn't proof read this, so I'm sure there are a lot of spelling errors, etc... hehe

Went we first split, the ideal we all agreed to create was a car club, and enthusiast club. That would mean a membership fee, and the such, but there would be benefits. This we ended up not doing, however I strongly agree that we have monetary support for this meet.
I suggest two scenarios,
a) the vendors get together, and cover the food costs, and the members cover the rent...
OR
b) Members cover food, and vendors cover the rent.
Either way, for the first time we are going to try this out, we need to have a simple, 3 part meal.. like, Hot-dogs/burgers/vegitarian... this is so it's simple...
I think we should do option B, and follow that food format of hot dogs/burger/vegitarian is really simple, and easy... great for trying some new, makes it simple... Every member attending fork up $5... i think that's reasonable... we'd have like $300 for food right there... everyone can be fed... even if every car was full with people!
that's my take,

I agree with option B.
It would be idea if the vendors covered the rent (Any extra money would go towards food for the members), and if the members coverd the food. (By either bringing food, or giving me money, so I could go to costco, and get stuff).
I'm sending an email to all the vendors I can think of. Each vendor will get their down area, where they can display their products, etc, etc.
I think this works well for both worlds.

oh yeah i am looking forward to this. its going to be one giant birthday party for me. woohoo! option B sounds good if we get some vendors that are willing to participate. a good idea would be to just have everyone donate money when they get there to cover the cost of food and drinks (IMO).

The best would be to get cash before hand... through paypal, check, or in person... that way I know what to expect in terms of food, etc.

Count me in, I'm sure this meet will bring dozens.
How about an official PayPal curator of these funds?
Sticky, with list of those who have paid/will pay?

Wow, thank you subydude (Joseph) for the very generous donation to rent the place!
So, I guess we'll use the other vendor donations to sponser food for all of us. (More $$ = more food, beer, and soda)
Thanks again subydude!

Great planning guys!!! Thanks to Dan for all his work so far and in the future. Seriously mad props to Joseph (suby_dude) for his generous donation of rental funds. I bet you can make it back instantly if you bring a handful of STi keys...you'll snag a lot of impulse buyers like myself!
Anyway, I missed out last year and don't intend to this year. Is there parking for 50+ cars up there Daniel?

Hey guys,
I'll need some volenteers for some help...
I need a few people to help me out the day before the event (At Costco).
I also need some people to come up there early with me (10am)... to set everything up. So, if you wanna help, just let me know. There is no rush or anything, so don't worry.
Also, does anyone have tents (not really a tent, but more like a canapy) that we can use? Coolers? We'll need a lot of coolers, and the bigger they are, the better!
The ride up will just be a cruise... not crazy driving this time guys... I don't want any accidents, or anything like that happening that day.
