Is it ok?
I just went to look at a stock 2002 MBP WRX with 43k in S.F. It had several problems that all were fixed by the dealer: squeky(sp?) passenger window, driver's side door latch wasn't working, battery replaced, CEL problems from a faulty sensor, new tires, and a transmission bolt was replaced. All this was fixed under an extended warrenty(which unfortunately isn't tranferable to me). Should any of these previous problems throw up a red flag? I am afraid even though these problems have been fixed, they could come back to haunt me later. Otherwise, I took the car out on a test drive and it performed well. The seller also seems to be very honest and has kept all service records since he has had the car. Let me know what you think.

The 2002 wrx is a sturdy brute! However, check to see what CEL code was coming up that was being caused by a faulty sensor. The 2002's have always had a problem throwing CEL's for misfires. They don't actually misfire but the cell comes up anyway. So if it was a 301 CEL, I doubt it was from a faulty sensor and I doubt it was actually fixed. Shouldn't effect the way the car runs though. My 02 now has just over 118K miles. I've been running Cobb stage 2 for a long time and I just had it custom tuned. The car runs better than ever.

Dude, if the price of the car is fair...the only thing I would consider if you live or work in SF is the condition of the clutch. If otherwise it works well, I.E. shifting and acceleration feel good then I wouldn't have any trepidation about purchasing.
Okay, I'd get a carfax report too, I would nevery buy anything that was salvaged.
Car really is pretty well made.

So far, it looks like I am going to pay around $16,400 for everything. I know that isn't an amazing price, but considering blue book is $16,540 and it comes with a warrenty, I think it is a very reasonable price. Thanks for all the help!

Just go buy it bretly!
