I hope so, but probably not. It's not a bunch of family sedans going around in a circle, making left turns.

It probably wouldn't be a recurring event seeing as how there is going to be a new light rail extension going down santa clara. Could happen next year, but after that I don't see the owners of the cars wanting them to go over railroad tracks.

Actually I have heard that this is already definitive, They already have the "track" laid out, through the town......San Jose decided to bring this here to fill the void that was created when the SJ Sharks disappeared.

You DO know that the Sharks are gone right.....SJ has no more hockey team.

Well he was on the site with a CC in his hand last week but he may have just surfed from wetnwild.com so who knows.

Yup. It ain't just the Sharks. No NHL anywhere for this year and probably next year

I think this was one reason for SJ campaigning for the race. The other is that, with MotoGP coming to Laguna Seca, Laguna had to drop an event. They have a cap on the number of major events they host (11 or 12?) The cars had no-where to go so I think SJ stepped up and said "over here".

I've got a copy of the track map and I think some of those streets already have light rail tracks on them. Maybe they aren't a big deal or they will temporarily fill them with blocks or something?
