The Official "Today on Hwy880" Thread
**POST YOUR DAILY 880/101/680 RANT HERE.**

I can see increased traffic because of the BART Tube drama, but I had to run to SanJose to get a part for someone, left early enough to head back Northbound to find myself basically in gridlock, so I jump over to 680...
..and it's WORSE!!
FML, our freeway system, or more poignantly our working day system sucks.
How about people start working different shifts and we go back to a normal commute situation?

Mason, thanks for understanding man, just got home after picking up the kid.
You WILL get your part. I'm
enough now to make it happen no matter what*. How anyone can do these commutes like this on the daily is beyond me.
*b/c still irritated about being stuck on the BayBridge yesterday for an hour trying to goto Exploratorium and there being an A's vs. Giants game and then traffic afterwards, being stuck in the city for an hour and a half.
Are we in L.A. or New York or wut!!

1.) freaks out about the engineering marvel that is the transbay tube having a hiccup.
2.) thinks putting people on shifts is the solution.
3.) can't spell the word "what" but can spell "poignantly".
this thread is all over the place. i don't know how to feel.

1.) I never freaked out over this supposed "marvel", and if this is what you call a hiccup I fear for us. The fact that that point of "viability" caused such a mess show's it's lacking viability more and more.
2.) Yes, putting people on shifts instead of the standard 7-5 range does displace traffic and actually works for almost everyone except the people in the Bay Area. We're all "too good" to work shifts.
3.) Last I checked the edit @ 6:22pm my spelling was correct, did I miss one? As long as we're spell checking though, it's "trans-bay". [Edit]OK, you got me, I did spell the last one "wut". Rest of the banter stands.
4.) Why you need to use a ) bracket after you have used a period to emphasize your numerating your points is needlessly moot.
Now back to being all over the place.
Rescuer is correct, I need less stress in my life right now. Can't wait until next Thursday night to begin my trip out to the lake.

Want to relieve congestion, limit truck traffic to an hourly range. Working shifts? Never gonna happen, people work the hours they do cause most choose to. I drive from Tracy to San Jose Mon-Fri. 580 is terrible in the mornings for a while. I take a back road. 680 goes from bad at 6:30 to worse at 9:00. It's always bad and those people are working some type of shifts if they are commuting at 9am.
Going back home, 680 is bad from 2pm to 7pm. 580 is bad from 2pm to 6pm. Every time, it's trucks that cause the congestion. The days when traffic is good, the weigh stations are open or there just aren't a lot of trucks on the road.

It's technically a "back road"? Used to be the "original road".
Use it almost every time we head to Murphy's.

It would add time to drive that road if the freeway is empty. It's only worth it to take the road when the freeway is backed up. There are actually 4 roads including the freeway that will get me out here. Its getting through Fremont that sucks.
