Kersh, well I think the 70 year old fan said it best, she was crying her eyes out on the way to the car, she said "I didnt want this for me I wanted it for Kershaw, he deserves it."

And I dont want that, the regular season seems cheap and unneeded. I need the Giants on our heels pushing us. Not the poor mans version of Houston in orange. F that noise.

Who else here thinks getting Stanton would be a mistake? I guess if he's the only option, sure, take it, but i'd so much rather have us sign a couple of guys, perhaps Cain (CF) and a 3B free agent...and it would likely come out to be roughly the same annual cost without the 10-year bank robbery and a loss of some additional MLB player(s) [at least Panik] and some young talent [possibly Beede and Chris Shaw]

 

was SF doing a houston and tanking on purpose to get some good draft picks?

 

If that were true we would have sold off more of the "assets" that we have for more controllable and high upside youngsters.

Sadly, management has decided that a teardown is NOT in order, and SF will have several LARGE contracts that are made up of just ~5 players or so...IIRC
