I sometimes re-read this thread for ideas on where to eat if I feel like going out. Man, whoever recommended Denny's should get a superkick to the head. :P

Ohana Hawaiian BBQ off Auto Mall Parkway in Fremont is pretty good. I had their chicken katsu and the sauce they give you is soooo damn good. It isn't tart like a traditional katsu sauce, but it tastes like it has a bit of teriyaki sauce or something in it since it tastes a bit sweet too.

Best cheap food... The two Superstars on Mission toward Daly City. Big, cheap plates overflowing with nice greasy Filpino food. $3.50 max too!

There's La Luna on 24th in the mission. I been there once, it's a great place to take a romantic date. The food isn't bad. Has anyone else been there?

Favorite India restaurant in Hayward off A. St. Bomb *** Indian food. Can anyone recommend some good Indian food? I've been to Sneha, Favorite India, and Bombay Garden. I'm a buffet kind of guy since I wouldn't know what the hell I'm ordering, so I'd rather have tubs of random stuff to choose from.

Dish(es): Seafood and other stuff.
Price Range: Main dishes ~$7.00-8.00
Other Facts: Great view of the man made lake if you take the window tables. You can see people float by in their mini boats.

Looking for a quick but tasty meal?
Location/NAME: Dim Sum King

Well some of my favorites are.

APPLEWOOD PIZZA
1001 El Camino Real, Menlo Park, CA
Telephone:650 324-3486

They own the Bay Area "The Best Of" title for 15 consecutive years. I have to agree. It is the best damm pizza so far. I drive all the way from Hayward to get it.

PHNOM PENH RESTURANT
(Cambodian Cuisine)

3912 MaCarthur Blvd
Oakland CA 94619
510-482-8989

Being a Cambodian myself finding a Cambodian resturant are rare. Really fortunate to have 3 in Oakland. The food there are excellent. The flavor are very close to Thai food but not too overwhelming.

i didn't take the time to read the last 8 pages of good eats so if they're already on the list, oh well. here are some of my favorite places to eat...

THE CHEESESTEAK SHOP
(Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich Shop)
4825 Hopyard Rd. Pleasanton, CA 94588

the cheesesteak shop is great, that's all there is to it. i probably eat here at least once a week. the sanwiches are everything you'd expect from a great cheesesteak. the place also has good sides like curly fries and onion rings. if your feeling especially brave go for the 15" cheesesteak hogie, it is absolutely huge! if you can finish one let me know because it's a challenge!

THE DOGOUT
(Hotdogs and Sausages)
3104 B Crow Canyon Pl. San Ramon, CA 94583

i just recently discovered this place with my dad. we're always trying to find new places so we thought the dogout sounded unique. this place has some of the best hotdogs i've ever eaten. if you go here get the chili cheese dog, it's the best. the dogout also has an interesting variety of sausages and sides like french fries, btw they put chili and cheese on the fries too, so ask.

these are just two of a long list of great places i like to eat, i reccomend everyone in the area give these a try, you'll be happy you did!

Mr. Pickwick's British Pub
Clayton Rd. in Concord

Best and most authentic British food in the East Bay by far. Probably the second best Bangers and Mash that I've ever had. Their Shepard's Pie isn't so bad either. They also have Guiness, Bass, and Harp on tap.

Wallace Arms
2nd St. in Antioch

Pretty good brit/Scottish food. Great atmosphere and great people. Just don't order a Murphy's stout or they'll make fun of you for ordering a girly stout. Save yourself the trouble and order a Guiness.

Murphy's Irish Pub
Downtown Sonoma Valley right across from the city hall building and just to the left of the old movie theater and down the alley.

Bangers are too squishy but they have good Fish and nice thick 'chips'. Plus they keep Fuller's ESB on tap, which keeps me happy.

-Chris

Here's some pics of Murphy's in Sonoma. I highly reccomend stopping in if you're ever in the area. It's right across the alley from the Indian food place if you know the area.
