Official EQ Tuning Thunderhill Track Day Photos Thread
 

Hey guys, I just got home and uploaded the pics I took to my computer... there are about 1200 from today... Of course I'm not going to post a majority of them. But I will try to post the best couple of EACH car and driver I have. I will be able to burn CDs or maybe DVDs of the whole event for people interested in having one for $10 mailed to you. They will likely be unedited or touched up unless you just want a CD of your car, which is a lot more do-able for me :)

Anyway, no pics for now. Just wanted to let you guys know what is up and to start the "official" thread.

Special thanks to Ed, Sonya, Peter, Adam, Chris, & Chris D for working hard and putting on an awesome event. Also, a major thank you to all drivers for living up to being stereotypical Subaru (or past Subaru) drivers; having courtesy and respect for one another with a positive attitude!!!

Hopefully pics to come in the next few hours (I'll be up at least until Adam and Chris get back with that '06 STi that blew a hole in the block).

ive seen that grey GC before, the last time I was at T-Hill

the gray GC is sick... full 05 STi swap (engine, tranny, drivetrain, interior, dash, etc.)

Yes I gotta second or third the grey GC, hella nice! And so is that white bug eye with the gold ver 7 wheels and the raised rear spoiler.

P.S. Anyone got some vid, incar or side line footage?

It was my first track day and although I was uber slow in comparison to everbody else, I had a great time, learned alot about my car and driving and looked pretty damn good doin it, way better than disneyland !! Thanks ED.

Great pics - and thanks a bunch for getting some shots of my car out there!! Such a fun day, great people, all around blast of a day. Bad news is my vid-cam is JUNK. I watched the in-car last night and all I have is basically a nice shot of the dash and the driver/passenger and then a white blast of light where the windshield is. Weird thing is in Peter's car, there is a strip on the windshield where you can see everything niceley but the rest is just a white blast. Pretty lame as it looks like the vid from JDMGC8's car would have turned out really cool. CRAP.

The best way to get you guys the pics will definitely be by hard copy. There are a lot of great pics of all of you guys mobbin. The disc will have HUNDREDS of pictures of the whole day with social shots too.

I'll try to upload some more pics in a bit though. I'm trying to put together a disc right now so that I can start sending them out by Friday or Saturday. Hopefully at latest, next week by Tuesday :)

Adam went off right there, the M3 spun off early in the day, the CTSV or whatever it was slid off, Gagan drove off... twice?, and a couple others. I think everyone's cars were fine, they were just moving a little too quick lol.

First of all, HUGE thanks to everyone for coming out to our first track day! It went better than we could have hoped for and we all had a blast! The overall atmosphere was exactly what we wanted and really reflects well on our tightly knit Subie community. We definitely wouldn't be where we are without all of you guys supporting us every step of the way! We owe a lot to the community and this is a perfect way to give back to you guys.

Finally, thanks to everyone who chipped into the donation box! We were surprised by how much we got at the end of the day and it definitely helped bring us closer to breaking even for the event. We will DEFINITELY be organized more of there small, intimate track days in the future and we hope to see you guys back again!

Thanks Anthony! I'm glad I was able to make the deadline for the track. The fuel pump I had in my car on Saturday when you came by wasn't the same one that was in my car on Tuesday. The first one crapped out on me after only 4 hours of use! Monday turned into a huge scramble to find a new one, pick it up and install it. haha

On the other note I saw and heard much improvement with you out there! Keep it up man!

It was an Epic event with heaps of good fun. I don't even think finding $5 would have made it better. Many thanks all around to everyone involved. I'm looking forward to the next one. Even if I don't scratch together the cash spectating and riding along wouldn't be bad at all.

You literally can see nothing through the windshield - it's just a big white rectangle. The video is completely useless and unhelpful. It's really sad. I will post a screen-cap so you can see. I am still hoping someone used my mount with their own camera and got some usable video!

It's seriously a bummer - this is the first time in 4 yrs I have had a chance to see some on-track vid of me driving, see what my car sounds like from the outside, etc. Really sucks, but now I remember why I forgot I had a video camera - this thing has done "weird things" ever since I loaned it to my work for some video stuff some people were doing. Gonna go shoot some vid outside with it and see if maybe it's just a setting, but this thing needs to go in the trash... I went through all the menus and couldn't find anything, but I dunno - it didn't used to suck this bad. It's like it's locked in a "low light" setting or something, and through the screen on the cam when I was setting it up - everything looked fine. GRRR AARG.

The whole vid looks like this. I am going to still rip the video and see if I can see anything, but I watched it on the cam on my TV and it was just like this the whole way. Still trying to work out vid-capture software and all that, but hopefully I will have it ripped in a couple days. Sucks so bad!!

I was going to put the cam/mount in my Mini and cruise around a bit but just remembered the mount's in the back of Matt's car at EQ. DOH! I reset the cam to default and walked around my apartment with it - it's not nearly as bright here as it was at T-Hill but still my windows are all bright white rectangles. I think the camera is just a POS. :( Still hoping at least someone got some vid - I thought Loren (sorry if I spelled your name wrong) got some with his HDD cam too...?

yeah, Lorin had a camera also and he borrowed your mount. i know cause
he set it up in my car for a session, i want to see the vids myself. i'll hit him or Steven up and see if it turned out well and if he can post them up for all of us to see.

We weren't timing any of the laps, but that thing was running on C16 and put down 440whp/400wtq on Ed's software, they still haven't fully finished up the tune on it, but she still has more in her :D

^ Referring to the time they had to send the tow truck out but he got his **** together just in time or did he go off roading more than once?

In speaking of video footage...I have a lot of in car footage from my car and some outside footage down the front straight.

The bad thing about the in car footage is that it was very very windy, since we had to have our window's down.

For the front straight...I got from what I can remember: Adam, Grey GC, Evo X, Black STi w/ EWG, some blue STi's, Adam and Adam again (Your car sounds like a freakin jet.) LOL.

I'll try to get the footage captured when I can. Maybe I will start this week. :surprise:

Sweet - I would really like to see anything at all of my car if you can get it captured. Let me know if you need somewhere to host it and I can make you an FTP account. I was in the silver MR2.

Also I used to use Adobe Premier just because that is what I was used to using but for making a simple vid Windows Movie Maker is seriously easy peasy and even detected and was able to control my camera.

Yeah, you passed me up. I believe I have footage of you where I am on your butt down the front straight, then you just pull away from me in the turns....I'm a noob and still learning. I am sure you remember me. I was the only yellow car besides the Corvette. =)

Yep - I remember your car - it looked really nice!

I have been doing this since 1999 and I would never say I have stopped learning - I learned soooo much out there that track day! My car weighs arouns 1000lbs less than yours so don't let it get you down, it's no drag racer w/ a pretty stock Corolla 1.8L but it does hang on in the turns - you can see me bracing myself in some of the pics - that was so I would stay in my seat. :D
