Thanks to everyone who put on a volunteer event, with relatively low ticket prices, and profits going to charity (Red Cross).

I was really surprised, and disappointed with some aspects. I'd love to give some feedback, but I don't want to "threadcrap" here. If someone wants the feedback, let me know where to send it. Given the ticket prices, volunteer nature, profits going to charity, I think the outcome was pretty good overall... just some things that would've helped me to enjoy it a lot more. (Yes, volume of music inside the hangar was a big one. And I _like_ my music loud; this was excessive.)

Anyways, thanks to vendors for supporting the raffle, thanks to people for showing off their cars, and thanks to all the volunteers for your time, efforts and resources.

I know in years passed Daniel has had feedback threads. It helps make adjustments and improvements for upcoming years. Not sure if Greg is gonna do that but it wouldn't hurt to start one on your own if he doesn't. Keep the feedback in a separate thread than the props. Good idea.

Thanks!

It really was a great event - thanks again to all the people who put in a lot of work to make ti happen.

honestly, i felt that the car that won the 'best of show' was absolutely spot on! that was an awesome job that was done on that STi. very tasteful, without being gawdy, absolutely functional and immaculately clean!

there was not 1 other car that looked 'stock' but was obviously not stock - and THAT is a beautiful thing!

I could make up some bull**** story/reason as to why there was no shortblock this yr.
Put simply: I changed my mind after talking to some folks. Last time I provided a block, it turned into a giant cluster ****, the PG winner sold the block, then it was sold again, ever time it changed hands, the new owner would hit me up for build specs.
This time, I thought about mandating having the block installed by DB. Those polled didn't like that idea.

If this decision angers some, I'm sorry.

i believe the raffle was good how it was. the vendors (like yourself) already paid money to be there, took the time to setup, and still offered gifts...imo thats generous enough.

and your right, if having had gone through that headache the first time about the raffled block, should make you not want to do it again. but off the record if you give me a built block i promise to get it installed by you lol

That's BS. I would never sell it, install that **** and sell your stock one. Don't blame you at all for that. 2 Years in a row I won one of your oil change kits. I gave it to Ray this year since he needs it more than I do at the moment.

Damn it paul! You bastard. I'll make you feel better... put it in my car and I'll give mine away in next years raffle. That's how generous I am.

On a serious note... people seriously complained about mandating a free motor be installed by its builds? Wtf?

That makes sense to me. Besides, that would have been a lot, money wise, to give away. **** the people who were really mad that the shortblock wasn't there!
