Its a nice phone...
But things i dont like thus far:
-No HDMI out
-Micro USB is on the bottom of the phone
-The folder options on the home screen arnt as clean (as my Razr)
-The camera lens i foresee getting scratched when the phone is set down
-Gotta find a way to get the notification to stop popping up everytime i open an app that uses data "there is an avail wifi, turn on?"
-Bootloader is locked - Thus far no root access
Things I do like:
-Battery life has been pretty good
-Pop up play is a nice feature
-size/weight are slightly bigger than my Razr, but not a problem
-Eye detector is awesome

Planning to switch back to AT&T cuz Sprint is so damn slow and no to Verizon unless they start offering the " double the data " deal 2gb is not enough. Can't decide if I want the HTC ONE X or the Samsung Galaxy S III...

2. i had the ONE X about a month ago. then i realized reason i got rid of my ifone 3G was no R&R battery and no SD card slot.
dont get me wrong... the ONE X is a beautiful design. everything worked as advertized except the two items above...
hence me getting the S3...

slight warning about rooting the S3. there is an internal counter that is set or updated each time you root the device.
apparently, kinda like a black box in which samsung, et al, can use to deny warranty. or some devious things...

of course for every ying, there is a yang:

Yea there is a work a round for the HDMI, but its always nicer to not have to need additional attachments or anything... but it will work.
I like the Micro USB on top (like my Razr was). Because while holding the phone when its charging, it can get a bit awkward. Manageable, but awkward. And when its charging in the car, I have to place it upside down in my cup holder. Just a bit annoying.
I know getting a case will help with the camera lens/face of the phone, but again, its something else that needs to be bought. I had one for my Razr and it worked great, but it wasnt "needed". I actually took it off a few weeks ago.
I know that ATT/Spring have rooted, but Vz did an A-hole move and locked their bootloader and is preventing any previously known ways of root (the links you provided were not Vz).
And I think most of the Samsung phones have a counter for root/ROMs

anyone else's S3 on ATT, your wifi download is down to less than 1Mbps?
suddenly, when i run the speedtest app, my d/l speed is crappy.
my previous phone, a dell streak running wifi G can get 8+ Mpbs. and they are right next to each other.
i'm stumped.
it's not like my home router is crapping out. suddenly the S3 decides to go limp on wifi downloads, even though it is reporting 50-70Mbps connection to my router...
sigh...
