it's probably best to buy a foreign country ps2 than get yours modded, a little more money but it won't have issues

I've had no issues with my modded ps2. Its been modded for 2 years now. I actually got it remodded with a Messiah2 last week. I originally had an old Neo 2.2 which didnt play dvdr backups. just cdr backups. contrary to what giliganwrx said, MANY if not MOST ps2 games fit on a cdr. Most of my backups are actually CDR backups of ps2 games.

The messiah2 also has a function to turn off the mod chip if u go online so they dont detect u.

pm me for info on my installer.

I had a friend who got his PS2 done for like $20. Its been like that for about 2 years too and it works fine. But in my opinion i'd say just get an X-Box and mod that since you could just put all the games onto the harddrive. No more games to carry around. I like all the systems I just think its better to be able to put over 100 games inside the x-box instead of having 100 cd's of burned PS2 games.
