Hey, I moved out to Elk Grove this past december and wanted to know where you guys buy your oil filters?

OEM would be great. How is the parts department at Senator Subaru? Where else would you go for your maintenence parts?

Thanks!

I need/want the filter by tomorow. I'll pay a couple extra bucks for it.

Senator Subaru on Florin Rd is okay. Average pricing on parts. The parts person did something really nice for me, though. After I asked for an oil filter and gasket, I noticed a poster of the Impreza WRC car on the wall and asked about it. The fellow turns to look at it and tells me to let me finish what he's doing first. I keep quiet while he retrieves my filter for me. Then he goes somewhere else and comes back with a poster! Nice, thanks!

Nowadays, I order several filters at once from Subaruparts.com. Doing it this way saves on shipping. I don't bother with the metal drain plug washer/gasket any longer since I installed a Fumoto Oil Drain Valve.

EDIT: Must be a helluva lot of interest in subie oil filters in the Sac area - check out the number of views...

I go to Shingle Springs Subaru. I have this mentality that tells me to give my business to the place that is out in the middle of nowhere as opposed to those in the city
Not to mention that I don't have any problem with traffic getting there

Or if you live next to an autoshop you can simply buy a purolator filter. IIRC I believe they make subaru OEM filters. Just look in their application book for the correct one.

Yes Purolator does make filters for Subaru. White label filter is $3.99 each, part #: 14460
