Odd growling from engine question

So, as the title states, today my '05 WRX started to have an odd growling coming from the engine when it starts to rev. Gets progressively louder as the engine revs. It almost sounds like the engine is having to work much harder than before. I have a boost gauge and its reading normal for my car (~15 psi). Car's completely stock except for a sway bar and a short shifter.

Any suggestions as to what this may be and who I can/should take it to to have it looked at? Thanks BAIC.

and I think thats the only advice we're going to get out of you, seeing as "damn not given"

could you be more descriptive about the growling sound? that, or take it to a shop, its hard to diagnose noises through text

are you sure its not just the boxer rumble coming from the motor..? jk

I'd check for exhaust leaks and also check your oil to be safe. Where does the sound seem like its coming from exaclty?

sounds like an exhaust leak... check your downpipe/catback connection.... did you bottom your car out or scrape anything recently?
