Oakland AutoX, 6/24,Sunday

I was wondering who is planning to go to this event?

I am a newb to autoX, but I recently got my membership. So meeting up some i-club people down there would be awesome so I can learn a few things from you guys. =D

If I have rims that are 7.5" wide, TBE, and suspension, what class should I be in? Street touring S?

Also, do I need to sign up anywhere online? cuz I can't find any sign up link on the website. or Do I just go there with my membership card?

I know I need a helmet for the event, is it possible to borrow one at the event? or do they required me to buy one?

Thanks,

Mark C.

You just sign up on site. Bring your membership card and driver's license. There are loaners on site. You can just grab them there.

You might want to bring a cap/sunscreen/lots of fluids. Probably going to run a little warm out there.

I think you'll be up in STX, but I might be wrong. If you are, please say hi to me. I am the white GC with a cf hood.

Speaking of which, who is going to Oakland?

I think you might be right. I think the street touring classes requires you to have an emissions legal exhaust system. I dunno though. Maybe one of the Auto-X veterans can chime in and enlighten us.

If you have lost your cats, you are no longer eligible for STX/STU.

If you have kept your last cat, depending on your suspension mods, you would be ok for STX/STU (depending on your displacement - 2.5L = STU).

If you have no cats or you did weirdo suspension stuff like ALKs its off to street mod you go.

That being said, your first year you wont be competitive anyways and no one will tech challenge a non-competitive newbie, so run whereever you fit (STX has lots of subies in it). Come find someone and we'll figure out where you need to go. Get there early (like 7:30).

I'll be there and am happy to show you whatever ropes you need - I currently drive a white 350Z #44 & my name is Matt - you might also look for Rob in #767 WRB WRX or Gagan in his #285 BRP RS or Mark in his #25 silver WRX.

2002-2005 WRX with modded suspensions + catted TBE = STX
with no cat = ESP
ALK = some MOD or Prepare classes

Thanks for all the replies guys.

Since I still have one high-flow cat, I guess I will be in STX. =D

I will be sure to find as many of your as possible, maybe I can absorb some AutoX veteran's experience so I won't do as bad. haha

Yeah. I am in STX as well. Sunday will be my fourth event or something. I think between me and the next guy is like 5 seconds. , but it is all good. Always a learning experience.

I'll be there,#767 WRX. If you're running STX, be there early, we run 2nd (which would probably be around 10 AM or so). Driver's meeting is usually around 8:45. Course walk right before the meeting.
I suggest trying to get a ride with someone in the first run group so you can get a feel of the course aside from walking it. Borrow a helmet from the trailer then ask anyone on grid of the first run group. I'm sure someone will be glad to give you a ride.
See you there.

if you have a cat you're in STU with me, if not I believe you're in ESP or you can run the T2 street tire class.

xtremeyolks is right. You are probably in STU with him.

I guess here is a cliff note version of STS/STX/STU.

Registration is on-site. Guests are limited. You have to be there when he signs-up. It's $40 for a guest now I believe.
