Spring training has started and I haven't seen a thread for the A's yet. I know there's a lot of Bay Area pride, so i figured I'd start one... Hopefully this thread keeps moving with a lot of discussion and debate!

Season Opens on April 5th against Seattle.

Looks like a lot is riding on the A's defense and pitching since it looks like they're playing small ball again. Kooz is gonna be pretty nice (defensively) at 3rd base. Great, Chavez is gonna man 1st base this season. The A's sure aren't messing around with those two hot corners. Coco's played on that successful Red Sox squad. Bit of a hot head, but man, that dude can play some defense. I hope Sheets does pretty well in Oakland, especially with the beefed up defense around him. I'm keeping my expectations a little low since he's had health concerns (which has thrown off his mojo more times than I could count in Milwaukee), but man, when he's on, he's ON.

This years is looking nice. I took all of last year off, and I know I didn't miss too much but this year should be fun for sure!

 

I hope Buck gets a chance to play again. I had such high hopes for him and I still have a lot of faith in him. He's a solid player player that deserves a chance to play!

 

As much as I think A's needs a new stadium, I'd have for them to leave Oakland.

Poor Gregorio Petit getting sent back down to the minors. I hope he's traded so he gets a chance to play else where... He's a solid player who hasn't gotten a chance to prove himself yet...

Maybe package Buck, Petit, and Barton for a proven 1b with power?

more bullpen relief which is the best thing we have already so i'm not sure how i feel about this trade...

Sup Steven! it would be cool to get everyone together for a game. i tried to organize one last season, but didn't go thru. we might have to go to a GIANTS Vs. A's game though since i'm a SF fan. They playin tonight on Chnl.40.
