Yes, there are sketchy parts of Oakland. The same can be said for parts of ANY big city. No, I wouldn't, and didn't worry about my wife getting gas right off the freeway.

i sold used cars on the side parttime in oakland. i was storing them in what was supposed to be a decent area. it was until about mid 2004. ive got lots of friends who live there but you cany deny theres more bad areas than good now.

One is a movie, the other is reality. The movie is staged and done for comedy, reality has consequences that the movie does not. Come on now.
