NOS on a 04 sti

do you think that putting 50 shot on a sti will hurt anything, i heard that the turbo doubles the shot, is that true, and where would be the best place to install, throttle body or near intake

joltdudeuc 01-14-2004 11:34 PM

*sigh*

Best place would be somewhere downstream of the TB i would thinks. I've been people tamp each intake track. My advice is it just stay away from it, but if you feel you need nawwz, it's all you buddy.

Grap on my Engrish?

I thnk he's referring to putting a jet in each manifold runner. But I'm not sure. He is right though- Nitrous is not really such a good idea, but I would think there is adequate fueling for a 50 shot if the rest of the car is stock.

hehe, he speeks betur than he spelz:D

Anyhow, unless you have a big turbo and are looking to help with spool, I think there are alot more practical(and safe!) ways to make more power on the STi. Ive had alot of NA cars and nos was always the cheap way to make power without the cost and effort of trying to put on a turbo, well we already have the turbo and there are alot better ways to get 50 extra hp out of it than nos;)

Wow.

Dibs on the tranny! Anyone want that number 3 blown piston? Oh wait, nevermind, it'll probably be seized to the cylinder walls.

-Alan

hmmm... I don't think a 50 shot is enough to screw the tranny, do you?

I dont think so either, but I am not sure how an AWD car will hold up to that kind of a power spike...if not the Tranny, I would expect the Transfer case, would be a weak point....either way, that is only IF he doesnt melt the block into a huge chunk of smoldering metal first. ;)

Doesn't it seem retarded to add nitrous to a car that you could pull 70-80 hp out of easily with an exhaust and some tuning?

I mean if you've got the money to burn go for it.

But if you had the money to burn, you'd probably be smarter, and would probably realize that your idea is retaaaaaaded.

make sure you use two bottles so it qualizes the pressure between the nozzles that you are using.

platypus 01-15-2004 12:42 PM

you need two bottles, big ones, and you need them tonight.
Oh wait, I've seen how you drive... you'll blow yourself up.

I would just shoot the intercooler if anything. To cool the intake charge, and get a crazier turbo or run more boost. lol.

dr3d1zzl3 01-15-2004 03:21 PM

dont listen to him run naws just make sure to use a dry system and at least a 50 shot or so (100 should be fine). And run an airfilter as well so you can get more air into the motor (makes more power if you have more air).
