North Bay Wine Country meet July 26th

Hey everyone. I'm trying to put together a drive/meet for anyone interested.
It would take place July 26th. Starting around noon. Driving Napa, Sonoma and possibly even Alexander Valley. After a good long drive have lunch at a meeting place. But i'd like alittle feedback from the club on what you think. Please take the time to answer a few questions if it's something that interests you.

1.) How many are even up for it?

2.) What sounds better: Bring your own picnic lunch, have a BBQ, or meet at a good restaurant for a meal?

3.) Are you up for a drive? Or rather just meet somewhere to look at and talk about cars etc?

4.) Wine tasting? or not.

If i could have everthing go my way the day would go as follows. First we would meet in a central location (San Rafael). Then drive Hwy 101(n) to the Lucas Valley exit and start our drive along the back roads. After our drive somewhere between 90- 130 miles depending on your feedback. We'll then stop at a few wineries for talking and maybe alittle tasting (one pure valley) before the final meeting place. There have a picnic lunch and meet and greet. Stay there until winery closes (around 5pm) then head back.

The 26th of July is 5 weeks away. And from your replies one week before the meet i'll say what the final meet will include. I do hope that more of you would be up for a drive though. I know many great back roads around the valleys that would make for a real good time.

I'll be driving the loop i hope to be doing for the event next weekend. So i can give you a better idea of milage as well as which wineries that will be chosen. I know all the valleys very well and most of the great wineries. I wouldn't mind a suggestion or two just in case i over looked a certain one.

If I'am in town, count me in.
Can't be too fast driving, lot of cyclists on the roads out there on the weekends.

Please, anyone who says they may/ are coming needs to answer the food question. BBQ, picnic or restaurant. Because it'll make a big differance in where the whole thing whaps up. I'm down for any of the three, but starting to lean twards BBQ.

Thumbs up

Amazingly, it looks like I'll be in town AND no AutoX that weekend.
Cool idea, done a few of them with my other car club.

Either day works for me.

I'd vote for a restaurant, but can deal with either BBQ or Picnic as well.

Let's go for a drive!

And 1-2 wine tastings would be good, although doing a half-dozen of them gets old if you're trying to stay sober enough to drive

Doh! I just realised that ALMS is that weekend. If I'm not going to that, I'll definitely be up for the run. Impala, I'm hooked in w/ several wineries all over the Sonoma and Napa valley if you want to taste.

Count me in and Sunday probably works best for me also. A BBQ + a stop for wine tasting sounds like fun. Just not too many stops, I need to be able to drive home afterward.

Ok, the day is being moved to Sunday after all. My wife informed me last night that we're going to be going out Saturday night. So i desided best not do two things the same day.
I'll keep everyone posted.

Aaaah, just what I need, a nice drive. It's been a while since the last drive. I like the BBQ idea and a taste or two at the local crushers. Alexander Valley would make for a good stop for meals and wine tasting. Plus, it is easy access to 101 for the trip home. We could end up at Warm Springs Dam in Healdsburg they have day use areas there. It may be crowded though.
