Yep! This got announced back on Fri. I guess Mr. Wolff's dream of "The Oakland Athletics of San Jose at Fremont" has officially been squashed!

Im soooo glad! There's NO WAY our freeways could handle that... And I DEF wouldn't want all those oakland folks coming over to our town... No offense to you oakland folks, but you guys have some sketchy people in your city!

I was wondering how they were going to deal with the traffic... That area is already jacked as it is.

They would have dealt with it the same way they do in Oakland. Which is nothing.

This sucks. I was planning on going to moar games because of the move (me is in SJ).

you can just take BART SJ to OAK!

...oh...wait...thats right, they didn't feel it was necessary to end the line at a city with a million people in it

now they want to put it in downtown san jose, so it may be better for you.

i personally was not for watching my home value get sliced in half, and having a stadium within 1000 ft of my house.

kyle, as far as auto cross, what in the name of zues's butthole makes you think that the city of Fremont would have allowed that at all?

Yeah the A's should stay in the Town...
I think they will too.

There was 5 different stadium sites, that I can remember.

I remember Jack London was one location but got scrubbed based on the transportation and plus it looked like the Giants stadium, i.e on the water and so forth.

Another was right next to the current stadium. Basically where the Auto X track is. That one was cool, I thought. Basically they would build the stadium next door, build a parking structure to handle the space taken away from the new stadium, and swing the bart entrance over at the same time. So that was cool.

There were others too. I gotta look them up. I have the maps/plans somewhere.

But I think as of new Mr Wolff has no idea what he is doing.

The plans they have for the stadium... making it like a business district almost. I think that put in the right place it would have been a good thing for fremont. Would have forced them to extend BART and brought jobs and business. Traffic increases wouldn't be that much worse than what trickles down from 880 on game days anyways.

880 can't handle the traffic either.

I think they just need to tear down the old isht and build one big sports complex.
