Couldn't find info on the '04 Impreza Sedan on the NHTSA website, but the '03 wagon got great marks. 4 stars for driver head on collision safety, 5 stars for passenger head on safety. 4 star side impact rating in the front (not tested in the rear) and 4 star rollover resistance.

I would think these should be relatively equivalent for the '04 sedan.

But remember, the best way to survive an accident is not to get into one in the first place.

why do you want to know that? are you going to crash it or something? j/k besides the insurance price for the m3 and sti are the same, cause i wanted to get a sti but had to settle on a 02' wagon. best move i ever made cause my wagon does high 12's....total sleeper.

i just dont see you comparing the M# E46 toan STi... I would get both, but a 30k M3 would be **** compared to a 30k STi.

STi is way better for the money more cost effective to mod with.

M3 on the other hand is more expensive to have fun with.

Your choice on the fun "OH" meter is all up to you.

Both great cars...

take it from someone with first hand experience in an STi that was in a wreck "TWO THUMBS UP!" but hopefully you'll never have to find out for yourself.

Well that is a whole other thread .. I wont even get into that topic. all I know is that the M3 is no joke/not cheap to add mods, just as an example... Brembo big brake kit is well over $5,000 and you cant leave the exhaust, headers etc., rims and tires and suspension OEM etc. the list can go and on and $20 g's wont get too far on an M3.

STi plus $20 g's on it with mods etc. will be pegging the fun oh meter....

Lan Evo and $20 g's will definitely kill you at a young age.

that and 20k of mods will make an EVO much faster than an STi...

Impreza's are battletanks for civilians minus the turret. Need I say more?
BTW, the M3 is great for the bling factor, but the STi is a much better value. And the Lan Evo is an even better than the STi in some respects
And if you do wind up with a BMW, take it from a former owner that if the car's price didn't kill you, the price for parts will mutilate you, your wallet, your pet dog, and your momz And I don't mean sports parts, I mean just basic maintenance parts!
